Major Sound Credit Update: June 2025

Announcing the release of a completely redesigned version of Sound Credit across all platforms!

At Sound Credit we are obsessed with making media creation easier and more productive for you and your collaborators. Today we are very excited to announce the release of a completely redesigned version of Sound Credit across all platforms: web, desktop, iOS and Android. It's packed with new enhancements and features, so everyone can join the ultimate workspace built for music!

Better Desktop Experience

Updated Projects interface

Easier and Faster to Use

Sound Credit's new interface gives you quicker access to so many tools and features. A totally reimagined navigation flow is much more intuitive, reducing clicks and head-scratches.

  • Personalized home view with instant access to your most recent projects, most recently streamed, most recently downloaded, and top streamed — for a bird’s-eye view of everything.
  • Streamlined collaborator control is more intuitive to add people, with an updated interface and expanded access permission options ("Can View," "Can Upload," "Can Upload and View Splits," and "Can Edit").
  • Details/Editor tabs have now been combined to just Details, have had a major makeover, and can now be accessed by going directly to your project (Details Button).
  • Collaborator view shows all your collaborators and the projects you share with them — great for managing clients or teams. On Desktop/web, see the top-right corner of the Home view, or hit the "More" menu.
  • Project view can be sorted by recently created, recently edited, name, or artist.
  • Tabbed edit views to jump straight to Song Info, Credits, Splits, Lyrics, Exports, and Notes.
  • Revised edit views now include easier renaming, better guidance, and more intuitive terminology.
  • Overhauled exports: there are now so many formats that they earned their own dedicated tab, to get you to your format faster.
  • Flexible recording uploads: users are no longer required to fill out all metadata immediately — details can be added later in the project view.
  • Faster performance everywhere!
  • And much more…

Mobile App Overhaul

New mobile app experience, including in-app music player

The iOS and Android apps are now much easier to use and have a completely new streaming-style experience. You can now play audio directly in the app instead of linking out to the web. The app response is faster. And, many more items can be edited on mobile than before.

Innovative New Features

Lots of new features have been added to help you collaborate better:

  • What used to be called "Playlists" have gained much more functionality so they are now called "Projects." It's all about the Projects!
  • Put more in a Project beyond audio and video: now you can add session files, text files, images, and more
  • Sort your projects by Recently Created, Recently Edited, Name, and our favorite, Sort by Artist.
  • Collaborators everywhere: you'll see new icons at the top of most views and under project tiles. Click to see the collaborators on that project. Collaborators can also do much more now, depending on their permission level.
  • The advanced publishing splits entry tool is fully featured, more intuitive, and easier than ever for music teams and songwriters to document splits accurately. With visual guidance to help you enter 100% of splits and ensure complete earnings.
  • A few months ago we introduced the desktop applet which automatically syncs a local folder to your project in the cloud. Thanks to your feedback, it's no longer a "beta" release. Enjoy!
  • And in the background, we've completely overhauled our system to enable many fantastic future features. Stay tuned!

Bug Fixes

We heard you! Thank you for the reports. We went on a massive, messy bug squashing mission. We fixed dozens of minor issues for a more seamless experience.

Important Changes

  • Previous versions must be updated to the latest.
  • All of your previous playlists have been replaced by "Projects."
  • A few users had created more than one album within a playlist. To play it safe, these have been broken out into multiple Projects, named after the Album.
  • If more than one of your playlists used the same recording, the recording has automatically been duplicated to each project.
  • If you have any questions, please contact support, we'll show you how!

How to Join In

Get Sound Credit now! For current users, updating to the latest version is easy:

  • Web browser: the changes are live now.
  • iOS/Android: if you have automatic updates enabled, the apps should update automatically. Or, visit the iOS/Android store to get the update.
  • Desktop: It should auto-update, or reinstall from a fresh download

We Want Your Feedback

We are constantly improving Sound Credit. So we want to hear your experiences to make the app work better for you. If you hit issues or have any questions about the update, please don't hold back: contact our support team, we are here to help!
